Introduction
The Komax 371 spark tester is a fully integrated system for testing wire insulations. With its proven mode of operation, the spark tester can detect even pin pricks, microscopic cracks and other tiny, invisible defects in insulation.
Key features:
- Full integration in the Komax processing machines
- Reliable detection of the tiniest insulation defects
- Automatic removal of defective insulation
- Quality increasement without production reduction
- No wire-specific settings required
- Easy installation / retrofitting on Komax machines
Function
The Komax 371 spark tester can be mounted on the machines Gamma 333 PC, Alpha 433 and Alpha 488 for the purpose of testing insulation. The product consists of a high-voltage generator, an electrode, a control unit and a Komax integration kit.
The wire being processed is run through the electrode. The high-voltage generator creates a plasma in the electrode of the Komax 371. In other words, the air in the electrode is ionized and thus electrically charged. If a wire with damaged insulation passes through the ionized air, the voltage drops and the control unit detects a defect. The defective wire is automatically discarded by the Komax machine.
The spark tester checks wires with a maximum outer diameter of 10 mm, in accordance with international standards (BS, CEN / CENELEC, CSA, JIS, UL, UTE, VDE).
